Head teacher’s Weekly Update

A Week of Performances

This week began with our Advent assembly; where Stanley from Class Three, lit the second candle on the wreath, we listened to the Gospel read by Emilia in Class Five, and then there was time for quiet reflection. In the afternoon members of our Mini Vinnies visited the residents of Chaplefields Residential Home in Frodsham.  The children sang Christmas carols, sat, and chatted for a while.  The residents were delighted to see them, and said that they brightened up what was a wet Monday afternoon.

On Tuesday, Years Five and Six visited Chester Catholic High where they watched a performance of Cinderella.  They had a wonderful time and were very impressed with how talented the students are.  We thank all the students and staff at Chester Catholic High for this kind invitation; St. Luke’s pupils thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

On Wednesday, the whole school visited the Storyhouse theatre to watch a performance of ‘The Wizard of Oz’, this was an amazing experience for all; young and old. Thank you to The Friends of St. Luke’s, who through their fundraising were able to subsidise the cost of the trip.   As always we were very proud of all our pupils, particularly of our Year Six pupils with  the care they showed their buddies in the Reception class.

On Thursday and Friday the youngest members of our School; Key Stage One and EYFS, performed their Nativity plays.  Both performances were excellent; children confidently acting, singing, dancing, but most of all enjoying telling the most important story of all.  I along with your parents and teachers am very proud of you all.

There is lots to look forward to next week.  I hope you all have a very enjoyable weekend.

Best wishes
