Headteacher's Weekly Update

We began the week with the first of our Advent assemblies; lighting the first candle on the Advent wreath.  All the children joined in prayer and reflection, taking time to think carefully about our preparation. Children in EYFS. Keys Stage One and lower Key Stage Two have taken home their class Nativity; this allows them to share with their families the true meaning of Christmas.

Thank you to Father Kenny and Father Colin for leading our penitential service this week, again a time for reflection and forgiveness.

Our school has contributed a tree to this year’s Christmas Tree Festival at Frodsham Methodist Church; we have continued the theme of Remembrance.  The choir joined other members of the community on Friday afternoon at the opening of the festival.  We do hope you had the chance to visit.

The annual FoSL Christmas wreath making evening took place last Thursday night.  There was a great atmosphere; creative skills enhanced with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie.  Those who attended, I am sure will have the best-dressed doors this Christmas time.

I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend; we are looking ahead to another busy week, I am particularly looking forward to our visit to the theatre and all the fun of the pantomime.

Best wishes

E Murtagh
