Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity. A high-quality music education should engage and inspire pupils to develop a love of music and their talent as musicians, and so increase their self-confidence, creativity and sense of achievement. As pupils progress, they should develop a critical engagement with music, allowing them to compose, and to listen with discrimination to the best in the musical canon.

Music is a key part of life at St Luke's, whether it's singing in the choir, piano lessons, woodwind lessons or playing string instruments in Class 5 and 6

Visitors to our school frequently comment on the musical sounds around our school whilst we practice and prepare for our many musical events including assemblies, masses, concerts and productions. None of this would be possible without our wonderful and talented pupils from across both KS1 and KS2.

If you are interested in working with our fabulously talented pupils then please contact the school office and ask to speak to Mrs Fairman.

Young Voices 2018

On Tuesday 23rd January, our Young Voices choir went to Manchester Arena to be part of Young Voices 2018. What a fantastic experience this was! We arrived for rehearsal in the afternoon and were amazed with the size of the arena and the amount of children that were part of the choir (over 5000 children!). After a successful rehearsal, we had a short tea break and rested our voices until it was showtime. At 7pm, the lights were on, the audience were seated and it was time to sing and perform. The sound was fantastic and every member of our school choir sang with great enthusiasm and participated in all of the dance moves - fully embracing the experience. St Luke's are so proud of our Young Voices choir. Well done for all of your hard work attending rehearsals, practising the songs at home and putting on a fabulous performance!

Mini Vincent Concert Chapel Fields Frodsham

Well done to a selection of this amazing group, who went to sing for the members the Chapel Fields retirement home.  We had group songs, solo performances and an opportunity to get to know the audience with a meet and great afterwards.

One of the residents was 96 so she got a special rendition of Happy Birthday.

A good time was had by all and we have been invited back for future performances.
